Getting back in the crochet mood!

Hello!  Lately I've been looking at a lot of crochet patterns.  I'm trying to branch out and try new ways of crocheting.  I learned to crochet by watching my mom as a little girl.  I would always ask her to "start me a circle", and I would crochet round and round changing colors here and there making anything that was round in shape that I could!  I made watermelon wedges, cantaloupes, lemons & limes...my mom and grandmother's had an abundance of fruit potholders!  I would ask my mom to mail them to my grandmothers in Pennsylvainia and Florida.  I was always interested in crafting as long as I can remember.  I would cross stitch, I did some things in plastic canvas.  I learned that from my Grandma Fye's elderly neighbor one year when my mom and I visited her in Ocala, Fla.  One thing I haven't learned completely is knitting!  Both of my grandmothers, my Great Aunt Connie, Aunt Linda and my Dear Mother knit.  I've attempted to try to learn on my own...but haven't quite succeeded yet!  My mom only knits wash cloths, and the two aunts that knit live away from us, one in N. Arkansas and the other in Pennsylvainia.  My Grandma Blough that lives in Pa is still living and recently was placed in an assisted living nursing home.  She is in her mid 90's and can not move around very well on her own, but otherwise in good health.  I'm hoping to make it up there to see her.  I have had a daughter since I last saw her in August of 2004.  Thats the last time she saw my oldest daughter, Chloe.  Chloe was 1 1/2 years old.  Since then Chloe has beat Childhood Cancer, we have added little Abigail to the family, she is 3 1/2 years old now.  I would LOVE for her to meet my little Abbie!  She is such a joy...busy...but a joy to have!
